Morris, 21, chose questionable footwear before a wild chase that landed him behind bars in Maryland, authorities announced on Friday.
Last week, a deputy from the Charles County Sheriff's Office spotted Morris driving in Dunkirk, but when lights and sirens were sounded, he failed to stop and sped away.
During the pursuit, investigators say that Morris made an unsafe lane change into traffic, nearly striking an unmarked deputy's vehicle, ran a red light, and traveled at speeds exceeding 100 mph before he lost control in the area of Dunleigh Drive.
Investigators say that due to his speed and a sharp turn in the road, Morris' vehicle fishtailed, drove up a grassy median and came to rest, at which point he got out and fled across the southbound lanes of Route 4 and into the woods armed with a gun in one hand and a bag in the other.
Morris wasn't quick enough and two responding officers were able to chase him through the wooded area and apprehended him.
During the subsequent investigation, first responders located one "Croc" shoe and a loaded handgun next to it.
Morris was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center, where he was charged with possession of a loaded handgun on a person, landed handgun in a vehicle, and multiple counts of fleeing and eluding.
